Welcome to my website! I am a freelance writer and journalist based in Cornwall. As a novelist I write about dystopian futures and, as a journalist, I seek out stories to delay doomsday. I write dystopia, horror and sci-fi (with a little bit of humour thrown in) and I love to play with reader’s expectations of narrative and narrator, taking old literary forms, like fairy tales and spinning them into something new. My work explores themes of climate crisis, AI (of which I have an abiding hatred), technology and social evolution- but then I used to be a climate scientist.
